1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using K12.io, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old (or have authorization from your school or district) and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

2. Account Responsibilities

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
• You must provide accurate and complete information during registration
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
• Create or distribute content that is harmful, offensive, or inappropriate for educational settings
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or platform systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the platform's operation
• Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the platform
• Impersonate another person or entity

4. Intellectual Property

Your Content: You retain ownership of the educational apps and content you create on K12.io. By publishing apps on the marketplace, you grant K12.io a non-exclusive license to host, display, and distribute your apps to other users.

Platform IP: The K12.io platform, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by K12.io. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the platform without our written permission.

5. Marketplace & Payments

• Sellers must connect a Stripe account to receive payouts
• K12.io retains a 30% platform fee on marketplace transactions
• Sellers receive 70% of each sale, paid out through Stripe Connect
• All prices are set by sellers and displayed in USD
• Refund policies are handled on a case-by-case basis

6. AI-Generated Content

K12.io uses artificial intelligence to assist with app creation. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors. You are responsible for reviewing and testing all AI-generated apps before sharing them with students or publishing them on the marketplace.

7. Disclaimers

K12.io is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from harmful components.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, K12.io shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to loss of data, revenue, or profits.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we determine is harmful to the platform or other users. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately, though provisions that by their nature should survive (such as intellectual property rights and limitation of liability) will remain in effect.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the platform. Continued use of K12.io after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
